Blending Gothic Revival with Modern Craftsmanship

Embark on a journey of architectural revival with this award-winning project at 102 Centre Street, a collaboration between Titan Steel Roofing and PKN Carpentry. Inspired by a historic photograph, the team meticulously reconstructed the verandah, returning it to its original Gothic Revival splendor. The centerpiece of this restoration is the bell-cast steel roof, gracefully complementing the slender turned columns and subtle wood trim. This project not only reinstates the home's historical integrity but also adds to the streetscape’s heritage value. Titan Steel Roofing's expertise in steel roof installation earned them a 'Certificate of Appreciation', as did Peter Nelson of PKN Carpentry for his custom work in rebuilding the porch. The porch’s design harmoniously aligns with the Picturesque and Gothic Revival styles of the original estate, balancing ornate wood trim and roof gables with a property landscape that considers every detail. This restoration is a tribute to the era’s design principles, enhancing the property’s foreground and restoring architectural balance, as envisioned between 1880-1900.

The bell-cast steel roof is a nod to the period-appropriate design, complementing the Gothic Revival elements that define the main building. This approach to restoration highlights our commitment to preserving heritage while employing modern methods, ensuring that the structure remains a vital part of the city's westward expansion narrative. The result is a seamless integration of past and present, where every detail contributes to the revival of this iconic estate’s historical charm and significance.
